The Amatullah Orphan Home Trust
Child And Youth Care Centre (CYCC)

‘They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend [in charity]. Say, “Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveller. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.”’ Qu'ran - Al Baqarah: 215

We can't fill the void of a parent but we will definitely try our best. Our mission is to provide a nurturing family environment and safe haven for orphans including newborns in Delft, Cape Town. This will include Child and Youth Care Centre activities. We have so much work to do because the orphanage still needs to be built. The property has been secured with building plans prepared. There are many ways that you can help, please call or send us an email or go to our Get Involved page to get some ideas.

Did you know that that worldwide there are 153 million children (under the age of 16) who have lost one of their parents, and 17.8 million who have lost both. Think of everything your parent/s have done for you and what a difference it has made to your life. At Amatullah you have an opportunity to show gratitude to your parents, by sharing your success with our orphans. Source: UNICEF - Orphans

To the orphans we say, "You may be on your own, but you are not alone, we are here for you."

What we do

At Amatullah, as parents and care-givers our roles and responsibilities are extensive. Can you list all the roles your Mom and Dad have played in your life?

In our home we will provide love, comfort, protection, support, education and friendship to each child. It will include basic provisions like food, clothing, shelter and medical care. Our plan is to provide these to 20 children, girls, boys and newborns.

Our newborns deserve special mention. Ask yourself who is more vulnerable than a newborn who doesn't have a Dad, and has lost their Mom during delivery? May the Almighty protect us.

As one of only two homes in South Africa who will be embracing newborn orphans, it is an immense responsibility but we are up to the task and welcome them with safe, loving open arms. Our home is now their home.
